Desenho e Composição

This series of works was created as part of the Drawing and Composition subject, during my first year in the Bachelor's Degree program in Design and Multimedia at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, under the guidance of professor Catarina Parente.

I have never been excellent at drawing. However, some of my favorite artistic works were the ones I produced for the Drawing and Composition subject. Not because they were produced mostly digitally; not because of their abstract and artistic nature; rather because they were one of the main ways I learnt about composition, color, (un)balancing elements, rhythm, and many more concepts that are essential for design.

These works include a series of random patterns, built using modules took from snippets of blind drawings; a series of postcards created combining simple shapes with one letter each; a photomontage based on an essay about creativity and mental health; and finally and simply, a self-portrait.
